Website Design

Are you looking for information regarding good website design? Hopefully you will find some good information in this article. There are website designers all over the internet who are willing to quote you a 'killer price', but in most cases you will sooner find yourself overcharged. Just because these so-called website designers know all the right language, that does not mean they are entitled to overprice their work.

The good news is, however, that those days are mostly over at this point, and when it comes to website design, a great deal of what you need and want can be done both easily and quickly. All it really takes to be successful in the website design industry is good will, a little bit of dedication and some heart. Designing a website is actually fairly simple, so let us begin with the basics:

The first step in the website design process is to determine your Theme. The first part of any website design project is to figure out how to make the website design work with your personality. A website designer will ask you questions like what your favorite colors are, what type of feel you are looking for, and how you want the site to function or to be laid out. Choosing colors for your website is easy, simply name three main colors that you like and picture your website designed in those colors. Pick your favorite of the three combinations and move on to the format portion of your website design.

The second step in the website design process is to complete your website. There are plenty of programs that will walk you through building a website design, like FrontPage and Dream Weaver. It takes little or no HTML knowledge at all to put your very first website design together, so rather than making excuses, you should simply get started. Learning HTML may be useful in the future, but for now you can focus on the use of a free website editor that allow you to create a website without learning any of the underlying code. With a WYSIWYG or What You See Is What You Get editor, you create a website by designing the appearance, and the editor is in charge of developing all of the necessary coding.

The third step in the website design process is to take your website public! This is the part where you really get the word out about your website. This is the most important part of the process. Upload your website using an FTP or File Transfer Protocol program, and store your website design on a host. Now that your website is up and running, all you really have to do is to occasionally update it so that it stays current and continues to pull in new traffic and returning customers as well. A successful website is a website that has some consistency to how often you update it, and while you are updating your website you can work on learning all of the code that goes into making it what it is.
